Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who can benefit most with this service?

A. We feel that we can help family, relatives, friends, business associates and other people who love or care about a particular missing person. At the very least, they get hope that their missing person might find and read their message.

Q. Can this service harm or hinder finding missing persons?

A. The MESSAGES TO MISSING PERSONS and related web sites are NOT locator services. We do not locate, look for, search, trace or find missing persons.

Our aim is simply to try to get MESSAGES TO MISSING PERSONS. That's all! If our service does more (like reunite people), that would be great!

Q. Does this service interfere with the police?

A. We have no intentions of interfering with the police, detectives, FBI, investigators or any other law enforcement agents. Also, we have no intentions of assisting in any crime nor solving any mystery.

Note that we found no laws that prohibit operating a site such as the MESSAGES TO MISSING PERSONS and related web sites. On the other hand, the police might possibly find our database of photographs and information to be helpful in establishing the identity of missing persons.

Q. What kind of missing person would be looking for messages?

A. We believe that most missing persons do not look for messages because there is no well-known place for them to look for messages. That is why we created the MESSAGES TO MISSING PERSONS and related web sites and named it to be a logical place for missing persons to visit.

Note that we specifically target runaways (especially teenagers), kidnapped (children and teens) and amnesia (or mentally impaired) victims within the title of the tomissingpersons.com web site. This includes anyone who loses his/her identity or is forced to change names.

We feel that our service will be extremely helpful to amnesia victims and others who are unidentified and/or trying to establish their identity. Note that an unlimited number of photographs with a detailed message may be added, not just a single photograph.

Furthermore, we are addressing messages to ALL missing persons, even friends that you may have lost contact with. With that in mind, we hope that everybody checks for messages periodically. Some people may not know that they are missed and others are looking for them. You do not have to leave home to be a missing person.

Q. What can be stated in a message to a missing persons?

A. With the exception of objectionable material (like curse words, jokes and slander), we do not want to offer any advice as to what a message may contain. We leave that that up to the party who knows the missing person.
